Halifax Piece Hall was built in 1779 to trade ‘pieces’ of cloth and is now the UK’s sole surviving cloth hall. Over its 250 years, it has been a trading place, a gathering for Victorian political rallies and a wholesale market. In 2017 it reopened as a visitor attraction after a multi-million pound restoration with independent shops, cafes and restaurants, galleries and heritage visitor centre. We carry on to Hebden Bridge - a town renowned for independent shops and boutiques, where buying local is a way of life. The Rochdale Canal runs through the centre of town creating a picturesque scene aside the bohemian streets.
