What's Included
Day 1: Outward journey calling at Morecambe for a lunch stop, sailing from Heysham, then direct to the hotel.
Day 2: Your rail experience begins at Douglas, boarding the Manx Electric Railway to Laxey where we change to the Snaefell line for a journey to the summit, where we allow time to explore and take a snack at the island’s highest point before we return to Laxey to visit the wheel - also known as ‘The Lady Isabella’ - the largest surviving waterwheel of its kind in the world. Watch the mighty wheel turn and climb to the top for panoramic views across Glen Mooar Valley.
Day 3: We journey around the island, first stopping at Royal Ramsey where we head across the island to Peel, where there will be free time to explore. Our final stop will be a visit to Tynwald Hill, Home of the 1000-year-old Manx Parliament.
Day 4: Board the Steam Railway through the Manx countryside to the popular resort of Port Erin, with stunning views of the south coast, and Cregneash Folk Village. At the Sound Cafe and Visitor Centre, there are wonderful views of the Calf of Man, home to colonies of sea birds and diverse marine life. On the return journey to Douglas, we visit Castletown to see Castle Rushen and the Old School House.
Day 5: After breakfast, we make our way to the port to board the Steam Packet to head back to the Northwest.
